Senate Passes Omnibus Appropriations Bill

On Saturday, the Senate passed the $1.1 trillion omnibus appropriations measure by a 56-40 vote, clearing it for the President’s signature. The bill will fund the government until October 2015. The Senate will be back in session Monday, December 15 and Majority Leader Harry Reid’s (D-NV) staff indicates that the Senate could be in session through Thursday to finish voting on nominations and the Tax Extenders bill (HR 5771).
