HOUSE SUBCOMMITTEE HOLDS HEARING ON ENERGY INDEPENDENCE

On Thursday, the House Subcommittee on Energy and Power held a hearing on how to achieve North American energy independence within a decade. Eight financial experts and members of think tanks testified. Subcommittee Chairman Rep. Ed Whitfield (R-KY) said the hearing was designed to show that North America can produce enough oil and natural gas to meet America’s energy needs, possibly by the end of this decade.
