This week, prior to the commencement of NGVAmerica’s NGV Conference and Summit, the NGV industry exhibited in a large NGV Zone at the Green Fleet Conference & Expo at the Renaissance Convention Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.
NGVAmerica was a major sponsor of the 5th annual Green Fleet Conference & Expo, which attracts the largest gathering of fleet professionals interested in improving the efficiencies of their fleets. Those who attended included commercial and corporate companies, utilities, government agencies, and city, county, and state departments with job responsibilities in fleet and executive management, purchasing, operations, and service and maintenance. Show organizers estimate that there were over 850 registrants this year, which is almost double the number from 2010, when NGVAmerica last participated.

Even when viewed collectively, hybrids, propane, and EVs paled in comparison to the natural gas industry participation at Green Fleet. Of the approximately 66 exhibitors, half were promoting NGVs. There were 15 LDV/HDV NGVs on display on the floor and an additional five outside, which were available for attendees to drive in the Ride-And-Drive. Of particular interest, one member company, Go Natural CNG, performed a natural gas conversion on a Ford F-150 XLT pick-up truck in the NGV Zone. Green Fleet concluded at a successful, well-attended NGVAmerica-sponsored networking event held at the Westwood Tavern on Wednesday evening.
