Santa Fe to Get CNG Buses

On Tuesday, the city of Santa Fe, New Mexico, announced that it has been awarded more than $1.9 million to replace older diesel buses with ones powered by CNG. The director of Santa Fe Trails bus system, Jon Bulthuis, says Santa Fe needs a modern, efficient fleet to help people get to work, school, and other places. The U.S. DOT’s Federal Transit Administration had received 836 applications, totaling $4 billion in requests. The Administration ultimately awarded $787 million in funding for 255 projects, including one in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and another in Albuquerque.
